Susana S. Martins is an FCT-Portugal postdoctoral research fellow both at the Institute for Art History, Universidade Nova de Lisboa (PT) and at the Institute for Cultural Studies, Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (BE). Initially trained as an art historian, she holds a PhD in photography and cultural studies (KULeuven). She has been teaching courses on photography and communication semiotics and her recent work includes topics such as photography, tourism, travel books, exhibition display, contemporary art, cinema and national identities.
